Starting to learn how to play guitar can be very exciting. You've got yourself a guitar and now all you need to
do is learn how to play it. There are all sorts of guitar lessons for beginners available on the internet. The
problem is if you are a total beginner you do not know what you should be learning first. Hopefully I can help you
get started in the right direction. Feel free to sign up for my newsletter and get my six part mini course that
will get you started on learning how to play guitar. The six free lessons will show you how to tune your guitar,
which is the first thing you need to learn. It also covers how to read guitar chord diagrams, the basic guitar chords you need to learn, how to
read guitar tab, and learning your first song.
I would also suggest checking out Guitartricks as they have
about 24 free lessons you can try.
There are a number
of different ways to learn guitar, it is just a matter of figuring out which method will work best for
you.
Private Guitar Teacher- Taking private lessons from a guitar instructor is a
great way to take guitar lessons for beginners, but there are some drawbacks. One being that it is fairly
expensive. Private lessons can cost anywhere from 20 to 40 dollars an hour. At one lesson per week, this can get
costly. But if money is not an issue I would definetly recommend taking some private
lessons.
Guitar Instructional Books- Before the advent of the internet, guitar
instructional books was about the most popular way to take guitar lessons for beginners. Guitar lesson books will
run anywhere between 5 and 20 dollars. Some of the disadvantages of using books to learn guitar are: 1. There is no one to correct you if you are doing a certain thing wrong and you can pick up some
bad habits that will be really hard to correct later on. 2. If there is something you don't understand, there is no one for you to ask. 3. A guitar book can only cover so much and a lot of them just cover certain aspects of guitar, so
in the end you will be like me and have literally hunders of dollars worth of books, so it doesn't really end up
being any cheaper. If you do want to start out by using a guitar book just make sure you get one that covers guitar
lessons for beginners and after that you will be able to decide how to pursue further
instruction.
Online Guitar Lessons For Beginners- The internet provides a great resource
nowadays on guitar lessons for beginners. Most are very reasonably priced, about the cost of 1 or 2 private
lessons. And the use of video makes it a lot easier to understand what is trying to be taught. Another great
feature of online guiutar lesson sites is the ability to talk with all the other students and teachers. This is by
far the most popular way to take guitar lessons for beginners nowadays.
These are
the two guitar lesson sites that I highly recommend. Check them out and see what you
think.
