Guitar Finger Exercisess
Why bother with finger exercises for guitar
Learning to how play guitar chords and scales is not the
hard part of learning guitar. Making them sound good is the tough part.
It takes a lot of practice to get to the point where your playing sounds good. This is
because the muscles in your fingers have never been used this way before. So while practicing chords and scales is
necessary to learn guitar, you can reduce the amount of time it takes to get good by doing some guitar finger
exercisess every day.

Guitar finger exercisess for beginners:
There are two finger exercises that I use at the beginning of all my practice sessions. You
will find that by warming up your finger muscles before you practice, your practice session will be a lot more
productive. The hardest part about playing guitar chords is being
able to switch from one chord to another smoothly and fast. Developing the coordination in each individual finger
is what doing guitar finger exercisess will accomplish.
Guitar finger exercisess- #1:
This first exercise is the most basic one yet is very effective, especially if you are
a beginner. You will be using all four fingers.
1= Index finger
2= Middle finger
3= ring finger
4= Little finger

Here is a short video on this exercise:
The important thing when doing this guitar finger exercise is to go as slow as you have to
in order to maintain an even tempo and make sure each note sounds clearly. Gradually increase the tempo as you are
able to.
You should also try to do this with an alternating picking pattern. This means use a down up down up picking
pattern with your right hand. This guitar finger exercise can be done on any four frets. The higher up on the
guitar neck you play the easier it is because the frets are closer together. I would suggest starting out on the
fifth fret.
Guitar Finger Exercisess- #2:
This next exercise is more difficult so take it slow. It is more beneficial to do it right
instead of fast and sloppy. This is a great exercise for both the left and right hand. Again, do this with an
alternating picking pattern.
